Down to Business

A nemesis in my own mind – Facebook? Friends or Foes?

I’ve got a million thoughts on my mind but what else is new? Noticed a picture of my nemesis on Facebook. My nemesis is a guy I went to high school with. Never liked him, he never liked me, but for some reason he invited me to join with him on Facebook a long time ago and for some reason I accepted. Actually I figured after all these years, who really cares about what happened then? Then when I attempted to contact him and actually say hello, I got no response which leaves me wondering why he bothered? What was the point? Same goes for another guy who was good friends with him. I’m not mentioning names because I frequently post links from Facebook to here, and there is no telling who will come to read this and how or why. So this bugs me and the thought has often crossed my mind to delete them both. This morning I noticed the first guy put up some pictures of himself posing – he’s a body builder among other things. It’s so cheesy to me when people do that. Much more impressive is when you know that someone is in really good shape and you also know that they feel no need to make sure that you know it. So now I really want to delete him! Of course I wondered for 4 years of high school what these guys had against me. To my knowledge I had never done anything wrong to them. I understand not everybody is going to like me, but I know that when I don’t like someone I just don’t bother with them – I don’t go out of my way to give them a hard time. These guys gave me a hard time many times. Yeah I think that settles it. I need to delete them! Funny thing is he went and found me on several sites – plaxo, and I have my outlook sorted by first name – his begins with ‘A’ so every time I open my outlook I see his annoying face! Reminds me of a line from Tombstone – “Yes I’m sure of it – I hate him!”

It’s just business:

One of the most basic rules of success in business is to exploit what is working. I do this with my clients all the time – look at the accounting, understand where the revenues are coming from and identify what is working. This is what I am now doing for myself. We offer online webinars and pre-recorded classes. The things that have worked the best in terms of generating revenues for Nerd have been the basic bookkeeping services and the private one on one training. To be honest I believe the webinar model is a great and I am not sure why it hasn’t caught on more, but either way, I need to focus on what’s working. Consulting services in Bookkeeping, Accounting, and Financial Management. I’ll get back to the webinars and schedule at least one/month but it won’t be what I focus a lot of my tiem on unless more people start asking for it.
